Back from Asia and refinements 3 have arrived!

If you're planning to do any traveling with invisalign, you may want to think twice about going to any country that doesn't have drinkable tap water. It's a real pain to use bottled water whenever you brush your teeth. At least that's what I found.

I've been back since Saturday and managed to squeeze in a quick appointment with Dr. A. This round consists of 6U/4L (+3 over correction trays if needed) trays. I hope I'm happy after this. No attachments this time.

Pictures taken at the end of round two.

  1. You're teeth look amazing! I'm on my last lowers and still 7 more trays to go on top. I cannot wait to get done with it. But it seems like I will be needing refinements, which I'm not happy about. I will be moving to CA in August and I'm hoping I can continue my treatment there.

  3. Hi!

I am LizzyM from the forum. I can not believe how much your teeth are like mine!

I am having the issue with the front tooth as well, getting it to twist into place.

I am currently on 2nd round of refinement 4U but I had to go back from 7U as all of my trays were breaking. I went back to 3U.

I just know I am going to go in for round 3. I am so getting over it!

    Cheers!

  4. Hi Lizzy,

We must be tooth twins! Yes, by the time I got to round three I decided to just grin and bear it. Hopefully this next round will end well.

Keep in touch and let me know how the rest of your treatment goes!

  6. Hello! I am on trays 6 of 18 and I will going to South America in 2 weeks for about 6 weeks. Do you have any advice about traveling with invisalign? I am debating if I want to change my trays while I am there as regularly scheduled (every 2 weeks) or just keep in one set pretty much the entire time.

    Thanks!!

  7. Anonymous - hi, I'm not quite done yet but will post pics from this current round in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

Lauren - Well, it really depends on compliant you plan on being with your trays. If you're generally pretty good about brushing right after you go out to eat for instance and doing the same while on vacation, then you should be able to keep to your regular routine. If you're more like me and tend to be a bit more "relaxed" about it, I would add a few extra days to each tray. Remember to bring at least one more tray than what you're wearing just in case you lose or crack them. Also, if you're traveling to an area without drinkable water or bathrooms with questionable sanitation standards, I would bank on wearing each tray for even longer. If the latter is the case a few extra things you may want to pack: colgate wisps, hand sanitizer, flossers, hand mirror and travel size mouth wash. Have a great time!

  8. Hi!
Your teeth and smile look so beautiful. I am currently on tray 10 of 31 (U and L) and this gives me so much to look forward to. I can already see changes in certain teeth but I can't wait until I also have a gorgeous smile. My teeth were, and still are, terrible looking. I also have a blog in the hopes of showing others who may think they are not Invisalign candidates that the technology can handle more extreme cases. I would love for others to come check out my experience (http://brandysinvisalign.blogspot.com/)to see what all Invisalign can do!
